New, earlier deadline
In order to announce scholarship recipients earlier, the deadline for some endowed scholarships has been moved to Feb. 15, 2013. To be considered for an endowed scholarship for 2013-14, you must submit a 2013-14 FAFSA and select WMU using our school code, 002330, by Feb. 15, 2013. You must also complete and submit the endowed application by Feb. 15, 2013. Look through the list -- there are some scholarships with later deadlines.

These awards are made possible through endowments established by WMU's many generous donors over the years. Criteria & amounts vary by scholarship. An application is required. Most are due February 15 for the following academic year. Look at each scholarship for specific details.
Robert M. Adelizzi Endowment
Eligibility

Eligibility
- Full- or part-time graduate or undergraduate students enrolled in Theatre or Journalism
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Selected on the basis of scholastic achievement
Theatre students
- Have participated in a theatre production either at the high school or college level
- Are deemed to have outstanding potential for a career in theatre
Journalism students
- Shall have had journalism experience, such as involvement with a school paper or yearbook, either at the high school or college level
- Are deemed to have outstanding potential in the field of journalism
Award Amounts

Eligibility
- Graduating senior from Vicksburg High School
- Will be attending WMU in the fall following their senior year of high school

In addition to the above, the Cunningham family would prefer, but does not require, the following:

Eligibility
- Complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) by March 1

- High school senior from Adrian High School
- Awards will be based primarily on financial need
- Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 for renewal
- Scholarship is renewable for up to four consecutive academic years
- To maintain eligibility, students shall abide by the rules and regulations in the Student Code developed by the Division of Student Affairs
- The scholarship will be reduced by the amount of any other known scholarship received by the recipient

- Amount shall pay for some or all of the educational expenses directly associated with attending WMU, including the cost of tuition, fees and on-campus room and board charges for the fall and spring semesters

Kendall Teacher Scholars Scholarship
Eligibility
General Criteria
- This scholarship is available to applicants actively teaching full time in all Calhoun County schools, both public and private
- Applicants must have a current State of Michigan teacher certification
- This scholarship applies only to coursework offered through the Kendall Center
- Awards are for tuition reimbursement only. Reimbursement authorizations will be processed upon receipt of proof of satisfactory completion of coursework at the end of each semester. Applicants are responsible for verification of grades with Kendall Center staff
Graduate Degree Candidates
- Applicants must be admitted to or actively pursuing a graduate degree in K-12 education, and/or taking coursework approved by an (education) advisor, and appropriate to a degree directly related to K-12 teaching, counseling or administration
- Applicants must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.2, if there is no history of graduate work, to qualify for this scholarship
- Applicants having completed some graduate work must show proof of a 3.5 GPA, to qualify for this scholarship
- Once approved, recipients must maintain a 3.5 GPA to continue eligibility. Renewal, however, is not automatic. Scholarship renewal applications are required each semester and will be evaluated for merit and applicability.
- Only coursework receiving a 3.0 GPA or higher will be eligible for reimbursement
Award
Up to six student credit hours (SCH’s) will be reimbursed for any given semester, with no more than nine SCH’s reimbursed each academic year.

Formal application for scholarships awarded for each academic semester must be received at the Kendall Center approximately five weeks prior to the start of each semester. Awards will be announced approximately two weeks prior to the official start of the semester.

- Applicants having completed some graduate work must show proof of a 3.5 GPA

Joseph P. Stoltman Endowed Scholarship
Eligibility
- Satisfactory progress toward one of the following degrees:
- Bachelor of Arts in secondary education with a major in Geography or in Social Studies with a minor in Geography
- Master of Arts in Geography for secondary education
- Doctor of Philosophy in Science Education in Geography or Earth Science
- Comparable educational specialization in a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in the Department of Geography should such a degree exist.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrate a commitment to the teaching and academic study of geography.

- Tuition only – half distributed during the fall semester and the other half during the subsequent semester
- Recipients may reapply for this scholarship each academic year until completion of the degree following the same criteria listed above.

Eligibility
- Scholarship recipients are selected by the Political Science Department one year and the Sociology Department the next year
- Must be in final semester of junior year
- The award shall be made on the basis of:

- Assessed potential
- Commitment to the field of Political Science or Sociology
- Applicants must have enrolled at WMU as a freshman, and of their post secondary academic credits at the time of application, at least 4/5ths must have been completed at WMU
