This scholarship was established to encourage young people with a gift for music and the drive to be a musician to continue with their formal educations. Established in 1996, this scholarship has made college possible for so many students and has helped train future musicians and instructors.
This award is offered to those individuals who are pursuing a degree in instrumental music (i.e., Music Ed/Applied Music) at an accredited College or University with emphasis on upperclassmen and post-graduate students.
Each year at least one scholarship will be awarded to a qualified applicant. There is a possibility of renewal. The amount and the renewal of the award are dependent on the need of the applicant and funds available. In 2008, a scholarship may range from $1,000-$4,000.
Applications must be postmarked by March 8 for consideration in the next school year
