Frederick S. Upton Fellowship in Public History

Eligibility Criteria

• Full time  student majoring in Public History
• Preference given to Ph.D. candidates
• Length of fellowship shall be for a total of three consecutive years, not to include Summer II session
• Recipient will be required to spend a minimum of twenty hours per week performing professional work (as assigned by the FMHS executive director or his/her designee) at the Priscilla U. Byrns Heritage Center of the Fort Miami Heritage Society in St. Joseph, Michigan
• Minimum GPA of 3.0
• Applicants must submit an essay focusing on his/her career goals in public history and philosophical approach to public history

Award Amount: Varies, with 40% being awarded in fall semester, 40% in spring semester and 20% in the summer I semester.
