To maintain your eligibility for federal and state financial aid programs (and some WMU scholarship and grant programs), you must:

  1. Meet satisfactory academic progress standards;

  2. Be enrolled in a degree granting or teacher certification or licensure program (see Class Level and Admission Status for details);

  3. Be enrolled at least half time.  If you are enrolled less than half time, you may still be eligible for a portion of the Federal Pell Grant, Michigan Adult Part-time Grant, Michigan Indian Tuition Waiver, WMU Nontraditional Scholarship and WMU National Guard Grant. If you are enrolled half time but less than full time, your awards may be reduced or cancelled depending upon your actual enrollment at the time of disbursement and the eligibility criteria for each of the aid programs.   4. Not owe anterm defined in Glossary overpayment on any Federal or State assistance program;

  5. Not be in term defined in Glossary default on any Federal Loan Program;

  6. Not exceed any limits on Federal Loans;

  7. Notify the Financial Aid Office if you:

    • Receive sources of assistance which are not listed on your award notice;

    • Withdraw from the University.
