Dr. Karen Blaisure, professor of family science in the Family and Consumer Sciences Department, and colleagues recently published the 2nd edition of Serving Military Families: Theories, Research, and Application. Receiving excellent reviews, the publication includes the experiences of approximately 70 military personnel and highlights a number of career opportunities that make a difference in the lives of military families.
Following this publication is a book chapter in Family Life Education: The Practice of Family Science, 3rd ed., co-edited by CECP alumnus Dr. Michael J. Walcheski and Dr. Jennifer Reinke. NCFR is the primary professional organization in family studies, and the text is intended to be a widely-used resource for family professionals working in the field.
Co-author for Serving Military Families, Retired Army Colonel Dr. Angela Pereira, will be a Visiting Scholar at WMU November 7-9. FCS, along with WMU's Office of Military and Veterans Affairs, is hosting Dr. Pereira.
