Millennial Students

This website contains a podcast as well as several links on the topic of the Millennial Student, including Diana and James Oblingers' e-book, an in-depth study on the effects of the various types of media on the human mind, and two articles by Mark Prensky on students he describes as "Digital Natives."

The webpage links to multiple articles on various topics relevant to teaching Millennial Students, including an NPR article on how multitasking affects the mind, and the now-famous "Did you Know" or "Shift Happens" video.

The Millennial Student Project is a four-year study beginning with the class of 2009 that will examine attitudes toward and thoughts about diversity in Millennial students, their pre-college experiences, and how their viewpoints interface with their campus environments.

The New Millennial Student is comprised of short, bulleted lists of common characteristics of Millennial students and suggested teaching strategies.

Generation X and the Millennials: What You Need to Know About Mentoring the New Generations details common traits of the Millennial generation as well as those of Generation X, and includes tips on mentoring techniques.
