E-teaching Endorsement
The e-Teaching Endorsement Program is currently available to faculty who are interested in teaching fully online or hybrid courses (75% online, 25% face-to-face) and have the support of their academic chair. The program consists of seven sessions with various presenters in areas covering:
Each session will address specific topics including examples of usage in Blackboard Vista. We will have you participate in online activities within a Blackboard Vista ‘course shell’. This will allow you to become familiar with the resources available in Blackboard Vista as well as provide a student’s view of the course platform. Through these sessions, you will be able to develop your own course.
July 20-31 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
September 22 - November 4 on Tuesdays 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
January 20 - March 31 on Wednesdays 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Blended Learning
Sessions will discuss ways to incorporate many different teaching and learning styles through the use of virtual and face-to-face approaches.
During the summer sessions Blended Learning will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in 3310 Sangren on the following dates:
Sessions will be held on Wednesdays, September 28 - November 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. during the Fall 2009 semester.
Sessions will be held on Tuesdays, January 26 - March 23, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. during the Spring 2010 semester.
Powerful Pedagogies
Powerful Pedagogies is a seminar series in which participants will explore students'
learning processes and ways to optimize learning in the college
classroom. Participating faculty will have the opportunity to focus
on a course that they teach in order to apply new ideas about
learning and teaching. This seminar is an excellent option for both
senior and junior faculty.
During the 2009 summer sessions the series will run daily July 13-17, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:30 p.m in 3310 Sangren.
During the 2009-2010 academic year, this series will run on Mondays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Fall 2009 semester and on Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Spring 2010 semester.
New Faculty Seminar
September 11 - December 4 in the Stewart Clock Tower located on the 3rd Floor of the University Computing Services building.

Cool Tools
Workshops will introduce faculty to a variety of high-tech, low-tech, and no-tech tools that can be used to enhance or complement current teaching methods, and will be held bi-weekly on Fridays 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. throughout the 2009-2010 academic year.
