Hands Across the Harbor event participants engage with Western Michigan University’s virtual reality experience on January 28

PUNTA GORDA, Fla.,—On January 28th,representatives from Western Michigan University's Punta Gorda location partnered with Charlotte County’s community event, Hands Across the Harbor.

Hands Across the Harbor is a half marathon and community event that encourages Charlotte County residents, regional residents, tourists, and businesses to live a healthy life style and make environmentally responsible decisions.

WMU representatives were on hand during the event to discuss online programs including health services, university studies, nursing, gerontology, alcohol and drug abuse, and more. The virtual reality experience allowed participants to be immersed in the sights and sounds found at WMU’s College of Aviation in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The virtual experience also included sights the newly renovated aviation maintenance labs, the state-of-the-art instructional flight simulators, and more.
