Professional Organizations and Honors

I currently belong to six professional organizations. I have listed those organizations, and in the cases where I currently hold office, those offices are listed.

A number of times in my educational and professional life I have received recognition and/or opportunities. Those listed below are ones that I view as having made an important difference to me in my efforts to grow and achieve.

1996 Elected President of the Consortium for Research on Educational Accountability and Teacher Evaluation
1986 Recipient of a faculty study award to study computer science at the University of Colorado (Funded jointly by the Northwest Foundation and USD)
1969-1971 Recipient of an ESEA Title IV Fellowship for doctoral study at the University of Colorado
1967 Awarded participant fellowship to the NSF Academic Year Institute at the University of Northern Iowa
1964 Awarded participant fellowship to the NSF Summer Institute in Physics at Purdue University
1963 Purple Key Award, University of Northern Iowa
1962-1963 President of the University of Northern Iowa student body
