Dr. Lori Wingate—Assistant Director of The Evaluation Center, WMU
The Kirkpatrick Model for training evaluation focuses on assessing a program’s quality and effectiveness in terms of participants’ satisfaction (Level 1), learning (Level 2), application of new skills or content (Level 3), and the resulting impacts (Level 4). Although developed specifically for evaluating corporate training programs, the model is adaptable to other settings and types of programs. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of the approach and its relevant to other contexts, such as K-16 education, health, and human services. |
