Intellectual Property and Evaluation

The Intellectual Property (IP) Management and Commercialization office manages the IP and is responsible for commercializing new technologies developed from research performed at WMU.  This “commercialization” step can take place by offering IP rights to existing corporations or by forming new for-profit enterprises specifically for marketing and distributing a new technology.  This seminar will give an overview of how this process works, along with an understanding of what constitutes “IP” at WMU, and the different types of legal protection available for new technologies and discoveries.
