Minor in Environmental Studies

A minimum of 18 credit hours of ENVS courses are required for the ENVS minor. All courses must have the appropriate prerequisites met BEFORE enrollment. A grade of “C” or better is required in ALL ENVS classes (unless noted otherwise), both to use as a prerequisite and to count for the minor.

• Environmental, Technology and Values (ENVS 300)*

* A minimum grade of B is required for these courses

Geology and Physical Science Domain

• Environmental Systems and Cycles (ENVS 2150)
• Earth Systems (GEOS 1320)**

** Only recommended for students with a strong science background (i.e. multiple previous science courses).

Ecology and Biological Sciences Domain

• Environmental Ecology (ENVS 2250)
• Ecological Methods (ENVS 2260)
• Ecology (BIOS 3010)
• Environmental Biology Honors (BIOS 1050) + ENVS 2260

Historical Domain

• American Environmental History (HIST 3180)
• Topics in Michigan History - Great Lakes History (HIST 4160)
• Topics in History - Environmental History (HIST 4000)

Domain of Culture and Society
• Culture, Values and Environment (ENVS 3600)
