Request to Extend Time of Program

If circumstances compel a student to request an extension beyond the seven year deadline for earning the PhD or the six year deadline for earning the MA, MAET or MFA, he/she should obtain a form entitled Request to Extend Time to Complete Graduate Degree Program, which can be downloaded at http://www.wmich.edu/grad/forms/extension.form.pdf.  The student should fill out the request portion, ask the Advisor and the Graduate Director to fill out their portions, and submit the form to the Graduate College. The student typically will hear within a week whether or not the request has been approved.
