English 1050: Thought and Writing

Instructors of English 1050 will have the following textbooks available for use for all semesters

Required for all sections:

Cline, Franklin, Suzanne Ehst, and Staci Perryman-Clark, eds. Readings for Writers: Exploring Yourself, Your Community, and the World. Boston and New York: Bedford/St. Martin’s, Print.

Lunsford, Andrea. Easy Writer: A Pocket Reference Guide for Western Michigan University. Boston and New York: Bedford/St. Martin's, Print.

Note: Both texts should be purchased as a bundle through the WMU Bookstore. Students are required to use the latest edition of each book, as updates and revisions to the FYW curriculum are made annually.

Other texts:

If an instructor wishes to use an alternate text, he/she must submit a proposal to the First-Year Writing Director.
