it was nominated by the Southern University Presses for the Morton N.
Cohen Award for the best scholarly edition of 1992. It was reviewed by
at least thirty-five newspapers and journals, including The New York
Review of Books, American Literature, Mississippi Quarterly, and the
wire service United Press International. A feature story about the
book was produced by Scott Simon for National Public Radio and aired
on Weekend Edition, June 1991.
