Students in WMU's English education program continually find opportunities to develop their skills in practical
settings. During the spring semester 2002, students in Dr. Jonathan Bush's "Teaching Writing in the Secondary School" course worked as program assistants for the Third Coast Writing Project's "Summer Camp for Young Writers." Undergraduate students developed a 'revision workshop' in which young writers learned about ways to be a positive peer-responder. They also served as 'writing coaches' throughout the camp. For more information on attending the summer camp, see the Third Coast Writing Project website.
