What happens when preservice teachers take a course called "Teaching Writing in Secondary Schools" and the class meets in a wireless laptoplab? What we discovered this semester is that some thought it was "cool" while others expressed apprehension. The laptops were readily available and easy to use for every class session. All we had to do was turn them on! The easy access made a difference, especially near the end of the semester when we divided into six groups to conduct online research on specific topics related to writing, the teaching of writing, and using writing to teach other content areas. We hope you and your students will find the information and resources useful!
