Faculty
The creative writing faculty at Western Michigan University consists of a very diverse group of writers who bring an avid love for reading and teaching into their workshops. Often invited to guest lecture and read at various programs around the world, they are known for their abilities both as writers and as instructors. Faculty members themselves hail from programs around the country, ranging from Houston to Iowa to New York; many hold postgraduate degrees in literature, as well as creative writing. Some have extensive work and publications in translation, including French and German. All of them understand the importance of using individual pieces as springboards to teach the class, and each respects the value of individual attention.
