Civil and Construction Engineering
The undergraduate civil engineering program at Western Michigan University was founded in 2002 by action of the Board of Trustees. It builds upon the excellent construction engineering program that has been a part of the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences for several years. Undergraduate course work is now available in most major fields of civil engineering. These include: fluid mechanics, construction materials, construction engineering, transportation engineering, structural engineering, and geotechnical engineering.

Computer Science
The Department of Computer Science at Western Michigan University was established in 1979 as a natural evolution of the Computer Science Group in the Department of Mathematics. The department has continuously evolved to meet the challenges of Computer Science education and research, and we continue to provide first-class opportunities for students seeking to further their knowledge and skills.

Electrical and Computer Engineering
Greetings! from faculty, students and staff of the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department, College of Engineering and Applied Sciences of Western Michigan University.

Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering
The key to any program is its faculty and staff. Western Michigan University's Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering has 21 full-time faculty members and several part-time faculty and adjunct professors.

Industrial Design
Enrollment in the Industrial Design program has been suspended. We are no longer accepting new enrollments to this program.

Manufacturing Engineering
Engineers who have the ability to take a product or concept and design the manufacturing process are in great demand as industries compete in the global market. The B.S.E. (Manufacturing) will provide students with skills that are in demand by manufacturers in automotive, metal working, plastics, paper, and other industries. This degree program is one of only a few manufacturing engineering degrees offered nationwide.

Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering
The Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering offers a combination of coursework and laboratory and design experiences to prepare you for a career in mechanical or aeronautical engineering and graduate study. It offers programs leading to a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering (Mechanical) and a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Aeronautical).

Paper Engineering, Chemical Engineering, and Imaging
Paper science and paper engineering programs share many courses in chemistry, physics, mathematics, and pulp and paper manufacturing. You will also study general education subjects and will practice communicating your ideas orally and in writing.
