Engineering Design Center for Service-Learning

Vision

Teachers, students, and faculty engaged in the WMU Engineering Design Center become life-long problem solvers and leaders in their communities.

Mission

To create and support teams of WMU engineering, technology, and education students and faculty working with K-12 teachers and students. These teams will design, produce, and disseminate exemplary instructional materials to enhance K-12 classroom teaching, student learning, and literacy in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The Engineering Design Center will also provide other interdisciplinary engineering design opportunities for WMU students.

Support for the Engineering Design Center for Service-Learning at Western Michigan University has been received from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Grant EEC-0315695 and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) Learn and Serve America Higher Education Grant 03LHHMI001.
