Submitting and assignment

Submitting an Assignment

assignment link in course toolsTo submit an assignmen go to your E-learning course and click on the Assignment link under Course Tools. The green asterisk indicates there are new assignments to be submitted.

From the Assignments Page you will see four tabs

  • The Inbox tab lists all the assignments you have yet to complete
  • The Submissions tab lists all the assignments you have submitted, but have not been graded
  • The Graded tab lists all the assignments that have been graded
  • The Published tab lists completed assignments of students that the instructor has published for the rest of the class to see

From the Inbox tab, click the link to the assignment you want to submit.

From the Submission Page

  1. You can type in your assignment (or copy and paste it from another document)
  2. Attach a file (this is the most common)
  3. Add comments related to the assginment
  4. Submit the assignment or save it as a draft

To Attach a File

Click the "Add Attachments " button (2 above). Your My Files area is displayed. You will see any files uploaded to your My Files area (2 below). If you don't see your assignment file, click the My Computer icon (3), browse for your file and open it. The file will upload and attach to your submission page.

If you don't see the My Computer icon, there is a problem with your Java installation. Check the troubleshooting page for some solutions.

Submitting Your Assignment

After you attach a file a link to the file will be displayed above the "Add Attachment" button. If you uploaded the wrong file by mistake, you can click the icon with the red X next to the file (in the image below, it is the icon seen after 9:06 AM).

Most professors allow students ONE attempt to submit the assignment. Make sure you have uploaded the correct file and you are certain you are ready to submit your assignment before clicking the "Submit" button.

Confirmed Submission

After you sucessfully submit an assignment, a message is displayed back to you
