Java Certificate Information
How to validate WebCT Vista's security certificate
We have recently been notified that the Java certificate in WebCT Vista will expire on January 24, 2007. Until we can install a new certificate on the Vista server,when you login to WebCT Vista after this date, you may be prompted to accept the expired Java certificate. Below you will find a list of the most common browsers and the procedure to accept the expired certificate. With all browsers, you will be able to "always trust" this expired certificate; the prompt from WebCT Vista should not show again.
If you are in a computer lab, you may need to do this EVERY time you use WebCT Vista until the certificate has been updated on our server.

- Put a checkmark in the Always trust content from this publisher box.
- Click the Run button.

Select Always to proceed.

Safari (Mac OS 10.4)
Note: For previous versions of Mac OS X, the steps are similar to the ones shown below. Select "Always Trust" from the drop-down menu and click OK.
- Click Show certificate on the screen that informs about
verifying certificate for the webctvista.mcgill.ca website.
- The Verify Certificate screen appears. Click the Trust Settings arrow.
- From the 'When using this certificate' menu, select Always Trust.
- Click Trust.
