E-learning Features

To add tools you don't already have in your course, click Manage Course link (look for the red tool box icon on the left under Designer or Instructor Tools), then click the Tools link.

Organizational Tools


Enter important events and deadlines, and allow students to enter their own events.

Search for content in the course.

Provide course requirements, objectives, and policies.


Communication Tools


Post important information in a central location.

Chat with other users in the course in real time, or use the Whiteboard to display images.

Post and respond to messages on specific topics.

Send messages to other users.

Chat with other users who are logged in to WebCT.


Student Learning Activities


Create quizzes, self tests, and surveys.

Create assignments for students to submit online. Students can work independently or in groups.


Content Tools


Organize and present content and activities to students.

Allow students to easily access large files from a portable medium, such as CD-ROM, instead of downloading the files from WebCT.

Create a glossary or image collection.

Create links to Internet resources.


Student Tools


Allow students to store their own files.

Allow students to check their grades.

Allow students to track their own progress.

Allow students to take notes.
