Student Status and How to Hide Dropped Students

Student Status

  • Students are either enrolled or unenrolled from a course.
  • Enrolled students are granted or denied access to a course.
  • Students who are registered for your course are enrolled and granted access to the course.
  • Students who dropped your course are unenrolled and denied access.
  • In certain circumstances, you may wish to deny access to an enrolled student.
icon explanation
deny access This icon next to a student name means the student has been denied access to the course.

When someone is denied access, they will see the link to the course from their My WebCT page. However, if they click the link, they receive a message, notifying them that their access has been denied.
uneroll This icon next to a student name means the student has been unerolled from the course (i.e. dropped). Student data remains in the course when students are unenrolled.

These students no longer see the course link from the MyWebCT Page.
small enroll icon You can enroll students into your course if they have previously been unenrolled.

To hide unenrolled students

  2. Click the Settings link
