Selective Release by Member

Set Release Criteria by Member

Use this option to limit access of a course item to a subset of people in your coursre. You do not need to use this option if you have setup groups in the Group Manager and assigned activites to the group (discussions, chat, group assignments) using the Group Manager or the Assignment Tool.

To set release criteria for an item in your course, go to item. Click on the action link for the item and select "Set Release Criteria." The item can be an icon linked to your course home page or an item in one of your your tool inventories (for example, Assessments).

At the next screen click on the Add Member Criteria button

Select the criteria used to make content available

  1. Make sure you select all studens first.
  2. Check what criteria to use (include or exclude).
  3. Click the box next to names to include or exclude.

  1. If you are finished, at the next screen click the SAVE button again (many people forget to do this and no criteria is set!).
  2. To delete the release criteria or to edit the critera, click the action link.
