In order to submit grades from your E-learning course, the Registrar must turn grade reporting service on. If you can submit grades from your Midterm or Final gradesheet from GoWMU, you can submit grades from Blackboard E-learning.
If you have a large class, please submit grades in parts - 50 to 75 students at a time.
If you need help using the E-learning grade export feature, you can contact the ITCenter at 387-6958. There is also an export FAQ. If your grades are not exported sucessfully (within an hour or so), please report this to the ITCenter (7-6958).
There must be an "Export to SIS" area at the bottom of your E-learning grade book. If this option is missing, you will need to use GoWMU to submit your grades.
If you have the "Export to SIS" option, you will have two columns in your grade book labeled Midterm and Final where you record student grades. You will not be able to delete these columns or rename them.
When inputting grades, you must use capital letters, i.e. A, BA, etc. Unfortunately, by default, the Midterm and Final columns are calculated column type. You will need to convert them to alphanumeric before entering and submitting your grades.
After grades have been entered and saved, send them to Banner by going to the Export to SIS page. At the bottom of the grade book is an Export to SIS option. Select Midterm or Final from the drop down list and click the Go button.
The Export to SIS page displays all the students who have data entered in the selected column (Midterm or Final).
For smaller classes, click the box next to Last Name to select all the students. For larger classes, click the boxes next a subset of student names. At the bottom, click the Export grade button to send the grades to Banner.
You must return to the Export to SIS page periodically to check on the status of exported grades. The page does not refresh automatically! After re-visting the export page, E-learning will display whether the grade submission has been successful or not.
You can also make grade changes from your E-learning gradebook and resubmit the grade as long as grade reporting is turned on by the Registrar.
It is also a good idea to check your grade reporting worksheet available from GoWMU to see if grades have been sent and/or updated if you make changes.
