Why Students Can't See Posted Grades
In order for students to see scores posted to the E-learning grade book, the My Grades tool must be available from the course menu on the left of your course home page.
Designers and instructors can see this tool only from the Student View tab. If there is not a link to this tool, it either hasn't been added to your course or it has been hidden from students.
To add the tool: go to the Build tab and click on Manage Course, then the Tools link. Click the box next to My Grades tool and save.
To unhide a tool: if you still don't see the My Grades tool after adding it to your course, it may be hidden. To un-hide a tool, go to Manage Course, then Course Menu and click the "show link" button next to the tool name.
By default, some columns in your E-learning grade book may not released to students. To release a column so that students can see their grade or score, you need to modify the column's settings.
- Go to your grade book, and click the Grade Book Options button
(located in the upper right corner) - From the drop down list, click on Column Settings
- The fouth row in the column settings table sets the visibility of the data in the column. If the column's contents is 'Yes', then students should see the scores entered for that column. If the contents is 'No', click on the word No. This changes the visibility to Yes.
Repeat this process for any other columns in your grade book that you want students to see.
