Broadband Connections Required

If you are working off-campus, you need a broad band connection, such as DSL or cable. Dialup users will find the system very slow and may not to be able to login.

Where to Login

WMU students and faculty access their e-learning course sectionselearning icon by logging into GoWMU and clicking on "e" icon at the top right. This displays the My E-learning page containing links to course sections a student or faculty has access to.

Guest Access

Faculty can request guest accounts for people outside the University who need access to their course section by e-mailing the E-learning Administrator.

Student Access Information

A student will have access to an E-learning area if

  • The faculty member teaching the class has requested the class be e-learning enabled and
  • The student has registered for the course and
  • The semester has started and
  • There is content available in the class for the student to see.

Students can access e-learning by logging into GoWMU and clicking the on the "e" icon. Only courses from the current term will be displayed.

Students should keep in mind that not all faculty require them to use E-learning tools as part of their course. Before assuming you have a missing course link, verify that your professor is using e-learning.

Faculty Access Information

Faculty will have access to an E-learning E-learning area if

  • Their course section has been e-learning enabled in Banner and
  • The course sections for a specific term have been loaded into the E-learning server

Other information about faculty access

  • Faculty see links to all their course sections, regardless of term.
  • Faculty can request that their course area be opened to students prior to the beginning of the term or after the end of a term by contacting the E-learning Administrator.
  • Faculty can request a development section on the E-learning server if they do not see a Banner generated course section for a specific term or a new course they are developing.
