When will I see links to my Spring 2012 courses?Course offerings for Spring 2012 were loaded into the new Elearnng system on October 17. Courses you see in your Spring Teaching Assignments in GoWMU should also show up in the new Elearning. You can login and start working on them.
Will I be able to access Blackboard after Dec 21?Yes, you will be able to login to Blackboard until Dec. 19, 2012 by going to http://old-elearn.wmich.edu. If you are logging in from off-campus, you will need to login to the VPN at http://vpn.wmich.edu before accessing Blackboard. Blackboard will be removed after Dec. 19, 2012 so all migration should occur prior to that time.
Can I move content from the old Elearning system to the new one?Yes you can. To request content from 2010 and 2011 be migrated, please fill out the request form. Migration requests for Fall 2011 material started Dec 5 in order to include as much current material from these sections as possible.
Can I move content older than 2010?Yes, you can send a request to vista-admin@wmich.edu. Please explain why it is essential to have the old content moved.
Will my old content be migrated directly to my Spring course shells? No. Content is migrated into a separate course shell listed under "Content Migrated from BbVista". You can copy this content into your Spring 2012 course shell.
Can I move student work from the old Elearning system to the new one?
No. Student assignment submissions, online test results, and contributions to discussion threads, and your grade book data don't move. You will be able to access the items in the old system until December 2012.
Can I get help?
Every instructor teaching a spring 2012 section is enrolled in the Elearning Instructor Support course. This course is found in your My Courses widget under Ongoing, Support Courses when you login to Elearning. It has modules that show you how to set up tools and the best practices of the tool use.
