Keystone Meritorious Achievement Award

The Keystone Awards were created to recognize accomplished graduates of human development programs in the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University. The Keystone Award includes two categories: The Keystone Meritorious Achievement Award and the Keystone Early Career Award. The Keystone Meritorious Achievement Award recognizes one graduate (graduation year must be at least 10 years prior to nomination year) who has demonstrated outstanding professional achievements and distinction in the field of human development.

Selection eligibility and criteria

  • Must be a graduate of a human development program within the College of Education and Human Development at Western Michigan University at least ten years prior to nomination year.
  • Hold or have held a professional position with a record of achievements and professional excellence.
  • Made significant contributions to their chosen profession.

Nomination procedure

Nominations can be made by anyone. However, individuals may not nominate themselves. Nominations must include:

  1. Nomination form—available from the awards homepage
  2. One sponsoring letter—this should include a personal anecdote telling why this individual has been chosen and why the nominee meets award criteria.
  3. One supporting letter of recommendation—this should include a personal anecdote telling why this individual has been chosen and why the nominee meets award criteria.
