Minor in EconomicsThe minor in Economics consists of fifteen
credit hours of economics courses: six credit hours of Principles of
Economics (ECON 2010 and 2020), and nine credit hours of upper-level
electives. The electives can be chosen from a large number of interesting offerings.
(Students in the The Undergraduate Advisor, Dr. Van Wesep, can help you tailor your minor to suit your particular interests and/or career plans. For example, Management majors frequently take Managerial Economics (ECON 4000), and a large number of Finance majors take Money and Banking (ECON 3200). Other courses fit well with interests in law, environmental management, international trade, human resources and government service, to name just a few. Courses that address this wide array of interests include: The Organization of Industries (ECON 3040), Women and the Economy (ECON 3090), Labor Economics (ECON 3100), Environmental Economics (ECON 3190), Public Finance (ECON 3240), Business, Government, and Society (ECON 3450), International Economics (ECON 3800), Studies in Asian Economies (ECON 3870), African Economies (ECON 3880), Latin American Economies (ECON 3890), and Comparative Economic Systems (ECON 4840).
