Jennifer C. Hsu
Jen was appointed as the Coordinator of the Office of LBGTA Student Services in Spring 2012, and since then, existing programs have continued to grow, while new programs have been added to support student success and improve campus climate. Before joining the Office of Diversity and Inclusion team, Jen was the Executive Director of the OutCenter, an LBGT community center based in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Jen's experience in diversity and inclusion presentations and trainings focus on building anti-oppressive institutions able to eliminate barriers and create welcoming spaces to all people, including the LBGT community.
Taja Cato-Jackson is a sophomore Journalism major with a Gender and Women’s Studies minor. This is her second year in the office and has been involved in many different events including the LBGTA Diversity Career Fair, World AIDS Day, the Midwest Bisexual Gay Lesbian Transgender and Ally College Conference, Campaign for Love and many more. She will be the student administrator for the LBGT Student Advisory Council this year and will also be getting involved with the SpeakOUT! Speakers Bureau program.
Sammie is a first year student studying Elementary Education, minoring in history and english. She has interned in two preschools, and loves working with children. Her favorite part about working in our office is getting to know all different types of people and being able to help everyone possible. She is very excited about her future in education and helping to grow the minds of children to come. In Sammie's spare time she plays softball, listens to music, sleeps, and writes stories. Sammie also loves dogs, volunteering, rainbows, and laughing. Sammie always has a smile on her face, and enjoys all colors.
