Alumni News Fall 2003

Alumni News Fall 2003 Dear WMU Dance Alumni and Friends,

Welcome to our first electronic newsletter! In order to conserve resources, we will now be doing all of our newsletters on-line. Prior issues will be posted on the alumni page of the Department of Dance website. Please feel free to share this with any dance alums and friends who may not be on our email list.

It was so great to see the more than 80 dance alums who returned to celebrate Wendy Cornish the first week-end of October. If you have not checked out the Department of Dance website recently, look for the photos from the activities: www.wmich.edu/dance. A grand time was had by all!

Please be sure to send us your news to share, and we will hope to send out our second edition in the Spring. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at a dance event in the near future!

Warm regards,
Jane Baas
Interim Chair

Liz Caldwell
Editor and Graduate Assistant

The day after that, the production company that hires for S&R fired us with only a week and a half of pay, and made us clean out our dressing room. Being out of a job is bad enough, but getting kicked to the curb by one of the biggest shows in Las Vegas history is too much. I've been (just like most of the cast) in a state of shock. And with no help from the company, people are losing houses, and not able to feed their children!!! If anyone has the option to work for Feld Ent., please feel free to tell them they do not take care of their own, and to look for something better." (marklas1@hotmail.com)
