Dance students take class in the
outstanding dance studios in the Dorothy U. Dalton Center, home of
the Department of Dance and the School of Music. Two large studios
and one medium studio are available for technique courses and rehearsals.
Each is equipped with a piano, percussion instruments, and sound playback
units. A small studio is available for warm-up and solo and duet rehearsals.
"Floating" floors in all studios, all covered with specialized
vinyl dance flooring, help provide a safe environment for performance
of challenging dance repertory. |

a computer lab, and faculty and department offices supplement the beautiful studios.
The conditioning room is equipped with three Current Conceptstm
Studio Reformers, an exercise mat, mirrors and anatomical
charts. Locker rooms are equipped with lockers for each major student,

and Dance Library is also located conveniently in Dalton Center.
Performances are presented in Dance
Studio B, the Dalton Multi-Media Room, Chenery Auditorium, the Gilmore
Multi-Form Theatre and Shaw Theatre to audiences ranging in size
from 100 to 1800. These spaces provide a variety of traditional
and non-traditional performance opportunities for two fully-produced
and several less formal productions each year.
