Tony Calucci,
Assistant Professor holds a B.A in dance from S.U.N.Y Buffalo and
a M.A from Ohio State University in Dance Education and Composition.
In addition to owning The Dance Extension studios for almost two
decades, he has performed, taught, and choreographed in many national
and international venues, including being the U.S. representative
at the International Dance Festival in Florence Italy, The Joffery
Ballet School, the International Ballet Hispanico, Western Michigan
University, and The Ohio State University and many regional and
national workshops and conventions. He had choreographed industrials,
for the Limited Corp, Kaufmanns Dept. Stores and Lane Bryant Stores.
He has choreographed with Byork Lee the opening of the Schuster
Theatre in Dayton, Ohio and co-choreographed with three time Toni
Award winner Thommie Walsh. Mr. Calucci takes great pride in his
accomplishments as a teacher; he currently has students dancing
in Pennsylvania Repertory Dance Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet,
RDT of Salt Lake and Cirque de Soleil. Film and television, including
Emmy nominee Gigi Rice for John Larroquette Show and Will and Grace,
Marla Sukaretza in Forrest Gump and Great Expectations. His former
student Sarah Wookey was awarded The Kennedy Center's Emerging Choregrapher
of the year by President Clinton. Presently, Mr. Calucci is the
artistic director of his own company The Collaborative Dance Project
and an Assistant Professor of Dance at Western Michigan University.
