Welcome to the Core-Plus Mathematics
Parent Support Website

The Core-Plus Mathematics Project (CPMP), with funding from the National Science Foundation, has developed a new four-year integrated mathematics program for high schools. The program is published under the title Contemporary Mathematics in Context. The problem-based curriculum is designed to prepare students for success in college, in careers, and in daily life in contemporary society. It replaces the traditional Algebra-Geometry-Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry-Precalculus sequence.

This site is intended for parents and other caregivers who want to learn more about the Core-Plus Mathematics program. The site is also intended for those who want to assist students in their learning of mathematics.

Mathematical Content of the Curriculum
Each course in the CPMP program focuses on important mathematical concepts, methods, and ways of thinking in four areas: algebra and functions, statistics and probability, geometry and trigonometry, and discrete mathematics.

The Core-Plus Mathematics Classroom
How students encounter mathematical ideas contributes significantly to the quality of their learning and the the depth of their understanding.
