Charles A. Dana Center Review of the
Alignment of Core-Plus Mathematics to the
Common Core State Standards for Mathematics

Following the adoption of the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM) by the state of Indiana, the Department of Education invited publishers to submit textbooks for review of their alignment with the CCSSM.

The Charles A. Dana Center at the University of Texas, Austin, was commissioned to review the submitted textbooks for their alignment with the CCSSM Standards for Mathematical Practice.

There were three possible ratings—"Minimal," "Limited," and "Moderate"—for the content standards and for the mathematical practices. Core-Plus Mathematics was the only three-year high school mathematics program reviewed to obtain the highest rating for alignment with the CCSSM mathematical content and with the mathematical practices.

The reviews for Core-Plus Mathematics are available from the Indiana Department of Education Web site. The Dana Center review is listed in the table under the column heading Alignment to Mathematical Practices.

Reviews of all submitted secondary mathematics textbooks are available from the Indiana Department of Education Web site.

An alignment of Core-Plus Mathematics, Course 1, Course 2, Course 3, and Course 4: Preparation for Calculus, by page to the CCSSM is also available for examination.
