CoreKids was founded by WMU scientists to help bridge the gap between Earth scientists and the public. The program helps students, teachers and the public to understand more about Earth, its processes and its natural resources. We hope to arm today's and tomorrow's citizens with information they need to make earth friendly decisions in their everyday life.
To educate the public we visit K-12 classrooms and other groups in SW Michigan, host field trips to the Michigan Geological Repository for Research and Education (MGRRE) on the WMU campus and make many of our presentations for elementary, middle school and high school aged students available to others on our website.
CoreKids has been sponsored in part by DTE Energy Foundation, Consumers Energy Foundation, the Department of Energy and also by donors to MGRRE.
