Beyond whole wheat bread: students sample healthy whole grains at school

Expenses - Dietetic Internship

As there are no WMU stipends available for the dietetic internship program, the intern is responsible for meeting all personal needs in addition to tuition.  Students enrolled in the WMU Dietetic Internship Program earn six graduate credits per semester and are considered full-time graduate students pursuing a master’s degree. Students may qualify for student loans and loan deferments as well as Graduate College scholarships and fellowships.  The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics also offers scholarships and fellowships to graduate students.  Students may be eligible for health insurance through their parents’ policy or through WMU’s student program

Personal transportation: Since practice experiences are located throughout southwestern Michigan, it is essential that the intern have full-time use of a reliable car and a valid driver’s license.  Interns will need to drive daily to and from rotation sites during the 40-week program.
