4. Communication Electives 6 hours
Six hours of electives in Communication, three of which may be selected from any courses offered by the school and three hours selected from upper-level (3000 or higher) courses in the school. Courses outside the school may be used with prior permission of the School of Communication Advisor .
5. Liberal Arts Requirements 6 hours
Minimum of 6 credit hours outside of journalism and communication, with at least one course in history and one course in political science.
Minimum of 6 credit hours in College of Arts and Sciences courses, not including courses in Journalism or Mass Communication. These 65 credit hours must include at least one course in American Literature (ENGL 222, ENGL 3200 or ENGL 321), at least one in History and at least one in Political Science.
Please note:
All course prerequisites must be met to enroll in upper-level courses. A course and its prerequisite cannot be taken at the same time .
Grade requirement: A minimum grade of “C” is required in all courses to be applied toward the major. The School prohibits students from taking a class more than twice for credit.
Baccalaureate-level Writing Requirement must be met by taking one of the courses marked with an asterisk (*).
