Communiqué Sponsors Activities for All Communication Graduate Students

Communiqué is a registered student organization for graduate students and senior undergraduate students in the School of Communication at WMU. The organization offers social, academic, and professional events. The events scheduled by Communiqué are open to all graduate students in the communication department, as well as senior under graduate communication students. Communiqué has grown tremendously within the last year from 23 members to 100 members compromised mostly of graduate students.
The purpose of Communiqué is to provide a forum to enhance student involvement in School of Communication policy , to offer a student voice, to cultivate involvement in the field of communication, to build communication-related skills and to facilitate the exchange of information among students with a focus on graduate and senior undergraduate students at Western Michigan University.
This year's social events included the Welcome Reception at Sprau Tower 10th floor and gatherings at the Roadhouse for food and fun and a chance to get to know fellow graduate students in a social setting. This year Communiqué is also planning on providing students with the opportunity to travel to the National Communication Association Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana. The academic and professional events are planned events open to all graduate students. The organization also serves as a communication network system among communication graduate students, the department, and the Graduate College.
