Graduate Assistantships
Graduate assistantships are available in the School of Communication. Typically these assistantships may be for teaching specific introductory courses as an instructor of record or assisting faculty in large lecture courses. Occasionally research assistantships associated with faculty grants are also available. A full time assistantship requires 20 hours of work per week. The minimum enrollment requirement each semester is six graduate credit hours for an assistantship.
Required qualifications:
- regular admission to the School of Communication M.A. program
- remain in good academic standing
- meet enrollment requirements
Preferred qualifications:
- an undergraduate degree in communication
- instructional and/or research experience
Applications for graduate assistantships may be found online here. Applications for spring assistantships are due on October 1. Applications for fall are due on February 1. All assistantship applications will be considered with the review of applications for admission.
