Borden's book wins National Award

Dr. Sandy Borden's book, Journalism as Practice (Ashgate, 2007), has just been awarded the 2008 Clifford G. Christians Ethics Research Award.

The award "recognizes scholarship highlighting important theoretical issues in the areas of ethics, mass communication theory, and the relationship between media and technology and culture." The award, given annually by the Carl Couch Center for Social and Internet Research, is named after communication ethics scholar Clifford G. Christians and honors his influential work.

The annual competition is decided by a committee of four distinguished communication ethics scholars. Members of the committee will present the award to Sandy at this year's AEJMC convention in Chicago, and her name will be added to the award plaque that is housed  at Clifford's institution, the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
