Sue Ellen Christian and Dr. Autumn Edwards, both associate professors of communication, will be recognized as the recipients of this year's Distinguished Teaching Awards during WMU's Academic Convocation at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.

Producers of Peace During WarPeace During War, a documentary produced and directed by Jennifer A. Machiorlatti with Kalamazoo residents and co-producers Michael Wilder and Yafinceio Harris, was selected for the Waterfront Film Festival (South Haven, June 12 to 15). The documentary short features Wilder and Harris, founders of Peace During War, a youth mentoring and gang violence prevention program in Kalamazoo. The film production team included School of Communication students, several of whom were awarded College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Awards for their work as production manager, cinematographers, production assistants and content editors. Peace During War was funded by the Fetzer Institute, Kalamazoo, Mich.
