Neil Smith received his bachelors degree in Communication in 1977. A member of the WMU Athletic Hall of Fame, Neil was named NHL Executive of the Year in 1992 by The Sporting News. In 1996 he received a Distinguished Alumni Award - WMU's most prestigious alumni award. Currently he is a color analyst for NHL games on the cable channel Versus and for the NHL Network. He is also working on Hockey Night in Canada Radio as a host; is a pro scout for the Anaheim Ducks of the NHL - and -- the owner of the Johnstown Chiefs of the ECHL.
