Students in the School of Communication's Journalism Program have produced a book and DVD on race and ethnic relations in the Kalamazoo area. Entitled "Telling the Kalamazoo Community RACE Story," the book is a collection of interviews and profiles written by first-year and capstone reporting students in Prof. Sue Ellen Christian's courses last year.

Telling the Kalamazoo Community RACE story by Sue Ellen Christian and Donna Odom |
The project is designed to localize the issues raised in the "RACE: Are We So Different?" national touring exhibit co-sponsored by WMU and at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum until Jan. 2. Through the WMU RACE exhibit initiative, Prof. Christian teamed up with the Southwest Michigan Black Heritage Society and the Kalamazoo Community Foundation to produce the work.
