Ways to Give

Even before Western Michigan University came into existence, educating tomorrow's teachers today was the mission of Western State Teachers College.  Founded in 1903, Western State Teachers College would go on to become the Western Michigan University College of Education with Western obtaining university status in 1955.

Changing priorities in education during the middle and latter portions of the 20th century has strengthened the College's commitment to preparing high quality teachers.  Very importantly, this commitment includes addressing the increased information technology demands of the classroom.  Western Michigan University - the third largest producer of professional educators in the nation - is committed to preparing teachers for the 21st century.

How You Can Help

Private support for the College of Education plays an important role in preparing teachers to shape the minds of future generations and enable today's children to become lifelong learners.

The College of Education has identified important financial challenges it will face in the coming years, from raising scholarship endowment funds to undertaking massive renovation projects.  Contributing to the University's Annual Fund is a good way for supporters to begin investing in the College.  People also may give major or deferred gifts.
