The College of Education and Human Development is proud to announce that SUPT (the School/University Partnership Team) was selected to receive the "Distinguished Program in Teacher Education" award at the Association of Teacher Educators (ATE) national conference in Dallas, Texas. The team representing the college and WMU was honored at the special events reception held yesterday. Our heartiest congratulations to all of those who work hard to make our intern program the best in its class!
The five criteria of the award were: being cooperatively developed and administered by institutions of higher education agencies along with other appropriate educational agencies; have clearly stated goals directed at the establishment of identifiable teacher behaviors; have an evaluation protocol that is appropriate, operational and directly related to its goals; provide data to demonstrate that after program implementation, goals were achieved; and be based on theoretically sound principles that are adaptable to other teacher education programs.
