Awarded to incoming first-year students, community college transfer students or current WMU students who are graduates of Warren Consolidated School District, 3.0 GPA maintained, renewal of award available upon reapplication.

Carman, Kelly Memorial Scholarship

 

 

Awarded to students with a junior or senior status, fulltime student (undergraduate or graduate) majoring in Early Childhood Education and/or Elementary Education.  Preference to non-traditional students if no non-traditional students maybe awarded to traditional student.  Scholarship to be awarded annually. Renewable up to max of 2 years for junior undergraduate and 1 consecutive year f a senior undergrad or grad. student in preschool child dev/elementary ed.

Ellsworth, Frank and Zora  Scholarship

 

Junior or senior, enrolled full-time, 3.0 GPA, demonstrated financial need, Elementary Education, Latin majors preferred, demonstrated career purpose in education. Renewable for one additional year. Award shall be no less than a $1,000.

FAME Support Scholarship

 

 

 

Awarded up to eight (8) fall and spring semesters, Students must enroll full-time in Pre-Education (PED), teacher certification program, incoming freshmen, community college transfer students or current WMU students, special consideration given to students of under represented populations.

Iciek, Rose M. Memorial Scholarship for Elem. and Secondary Ed.

 

 

Awarded to first year fulltime undergraduate student majoring in elementary or secondary ed. Student must demonstrate financial need. Minimum 3.0 GPA and must be a US citizen. Scholarship may be renewable for additional for an additional 3 consecutive years provided the student maintains a minimum GPA 3.0 and continues in elem. or secondary ed.

Janet M. Jones Endowment Scholarship

 

 

Undergraduate, enrolled full-time, with a major in Elementary Education and a minor of Early Childhood Education, demonstrates financial need, renewable if student remains in the COE, if scholarship is awarded to freshman, renewable up to 3 yrs., soph. 2 years, jr. 1 year.

Lance, Doris A. Scholarship

 

 

 

 

Full- or part-time students, Secondary Education in Business, 3.0 GPA, selected on basis of academic achievement or financial need, must not have been censured for a major violation of University regulations, award may be renewed from year to year based on committee recommendation and student need. Students enrolled in the Business Education Curriculum shall be given priority.

McKee, Beulah and Harold Scholarship in Early Childhood Education

 

Enrolled full-time, Early Childhood Education with preference given to students enrolled in nursery school, prekindergarten and kindergarten curriculums., 3.0 GPA, preference given to Kalamazoo County or greater Kalamazoo high school graduates, primary consideration to graduates of Parchment High School, renewed each year until the current recipient graduates.

Nobbs, Lucille Abbott/ABE Endowed Scholarship

 

 

 

Scholarship awarded to members or direct descendents of a member of Alpha Beta Epsilon WMU Sorority shall receive first preference for this scholarship. Applicants will be responsible for indicating membership in Alpha Beta Epsilon and/or familial and/or familial relationship to past or current members of ABE.  Scholarship awarded to full-time students with a junior or senior status undergraduate or graduate, enrolled in teacher education program. Must hold and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Award is renewable for up to 2 consecutive  years.

Awarded to a full-time undergraduate student majoring in elementary education.  Preference to student who demonstrate financial need. 2.5 GPA.  Scholarship is renewable up to 4 consecutive academic years provided that the recipient remains full-time majoring in elementary ed.

State Farm Foundation Unendowed Teacher Scholarship

Junior status, full-time enrollment, preference shall be given to minorities who wish to pursue a teaching career in an urban school districts. Demonstrated financial need. Scholarship is renewable up to one  year.
