Office of Field Placements

The Office of Field Placements is responsible for the coordination and oversight of all field experiences associated with teacher education curricula.

Student Accolades

State Farm InternsThe State Farm Foundation will provide financial assistance to 20 students pursuing intern teaching during the 2010 spring and fall semesters.  The $1,000 awards are given based upon the following criteria:

  1. commitment to pursue a career in public education
  2. experience in urban settings and/or schools struggling to meet AYP (Adequate Yearly Progress)
  3. financial need
  4. preparation to teach in core academic subject areas
  5. special circumstances impacting the applicant
  6. scholarship

Award recipients will be required to attend a recognition ceremony in Lansing (to be held in late March or early April 2010) hosted by State Farm and attended by members of the Michigan legislature.

To apply, complete and return the application for Spring 2010 interns.  Applications must be received in the Office of Field Placements no later than 5:00 p.m. on November 9 – late applications will not be accepted.  Please do not apply by email – mail applications to:
